Who we are
Pushing the boundaries of what's possible
The team at Verity Studios has a passion for bringing technology and the arts together to create something audiences have never seen before. And we believe even the most innovative solutions should be easy to use. Indoor drone technology is fundamentally transforming the live events experience, and Verity Studios provides a system that makes that technology reliable and safe for events all over the world.
CapabilitiesWe are engineers, artists, live events professionals, and designers; all working
as one.
Technology you can trust
We are proud of our track record
The Verity system is a safe and reliable drone solution that delivers magic to your show. With nearly 100 patents to our name, we've built our indoor drone system from the ground up with safety and reliability in mind. Our drones have traveled the world and have flown 1M+ times in more than 25 countries. Having toured with Metallica, Celine Dion, and Drake, and flying above audiences at major corporate events, our technology has been proven in environments where failure is not an option. The Verity Studios system is so safe that we’ve even been allowed to fly in venues with the strictest no-drone policies.
TechnologyWhat we do
The first thing we do is listen;
getting a feel for the show. Then we design something ambitious enough that the audience remembers, and reliable enough you can deliver, show after show.

Our process
From concept to opening night,
we’ll be there.
Are you creating a new show? Let us make it more spectacular. Tell us your artistic vision, we will help you realize it, using our unique combination of technical innovation and creative invention.
1. The big idea.
We start by understanding your show, venue, creative vision, and constraints. We translate that into a drone show concept: the emotion or experience the drones should convey, and how they integrate with your existing lights, video, and music.
2. Getting it right.
Our team works through exactly how the show is installed and run in your specific venue: available rigging points, how the Kedge units integrate into the set, as well as integration with your lighting, video and stage automation. We will also support you with venue safety approvals and getting clearance for venues with no-drone policies. You get a clear technical and installation plan before anything is built.
3. Choreography and previsualization.
Our drone choreographers design the flight paths and lighting, synchronized to your music, performers, and effects. Before any drone flies, we build a full 3D previsualization so you see and approve exactly how the sequence will look in your space, and we iterate on it with your creative team until it's right.
4. Optional: customization.
If your show calls for something unique, our designers create bespoke flight-tested costumes or custom payloads, and our engineers adapt the system to your needs. Custom creative and technical projects have lead times of 4–8 months.
5. Going live & support.
We ship the equipment and install on-site. For one-off events, our team operates the show. For permanent installations, we train your team to run and maintain it. We finesse the drones' performance through to opening night and are available around the clock for ongoing shows.
TECHNOLOGY
Designed and built from the ground up, our indoor drones turn live events into unforgettable experiences.

The Lucie® micro drone
The Lucie micro drone is a 58g (2 oz) autonomous flying light built for live performance. Each Lucie carries one of two lighting payloads with programmable intensities. The bright RGBW pixel light gives you saturated color with pixel-level control across the full fleet. The Mini Beam throws focused shafts through the air to create searchlight effects, beam sweeps, and aerial shapes, flown anywhere in the venue. Mix payloads in a single fleet to combine flying pixels with dramatic mid-air beams.
Due to its small size, the Lucie micro drone can perform above artists and audience members without any safety concerns. Optimized for permanent installations and touring productions, they are ultra-safe, reliable, and easy to use.
FLYING MINI BEAMS
The new Mini Beam payload transforms Lucie drones into mobile, moving beam lights—no rigging, no fixed positions. Freed from traditional mounting constraints, lighting designers can now position and animate beams anywhere in space, unlocking creative possibilities limited only by imagination. With the Mini Beam, light becomes a dynamic, untethered element of stage design.
Technical specifications.
Weight: 58g (2oz) per drone
Flight time: up to 5 minutes per charge
Charging time: approximately 45 minutes
Reliability: 99.95%
Ceiling height: 6 - 15m (20 - 50 ft)
Equipped with high–intensity, pre-programmable RGBW lights as either a pixel or Mini Beam
Indoor positioning system.
Our Kedge™ localization units positions every Lucie micro drone indoors without GPS, cameras, or carpets. The robust system has operated in a wide variety of venues and conditions, including on ice, in a desert, on ships and even next to flame throwers.
Kedges integrate into the scenography however the design calls for it. They can be built into the set, carried on and off by performers or stage hands during the show, or hidden entirely from view below audience seats.
Lucie® charging station.
To house the Lucie micro drones before their performance, we provide charging station racks. Each rack hosts up to 40 Lucie micro drones and is an all-in-one charging, storage, and transportation solution.
Custom Projects
If you want to create something never seen before, we also work on bespoke, custom projects built to your specifications. From custom design, to engineering projects and processes, we’ll work with you to deliver something spectacular.
Costumes
Imagine a stage full of floating jellyfish, flying disco balls or swaying flowers. Our drone costume designers can create bespoke costumes that turn our Lucie® micro drones into flying scenery, props and even creatures. These ultra-light, flight-tested costumes can be used alone, or in tandem with a flying light show to add an extra dimension to your event.
Show integration.
Our Lucie micro drones integrate with the rest of the show rather than running alongside it. The drones accept timecoded show control triggers from your existing workflow, so cues fire in sync with the lights, video, and audio your team is already running.

Frequently asked questions
How do we get Verity Studios drones at our event? What is the process?
We typically work in five stages:
1. Creative scoping (1-2 days): you share venue, audience, and creative goals; we shape the show concept together.
2. Choreography with 3D animation (1-2 weeks): we produce a pre-visualization animation of the choreography for review and sign-off.
3. Build and ship (3-4 weeks, in parallel with choreography): equipment is configured, packed, and freighted to your venue.
4. Install and show (2-5 days): Verity Studios installs on-site, trains you, and you operate; for one-time events, Verity Studios installs and operates the show.
5. Operations and maintenance (touring/permanent installations only): your team takes over operations and maintenance with replacement spare parts with our ongoing support.
How much does a Verity Studios drone show cost?
Pricing is project-specific. Verity Studios shows range from a single drone moment at a corporate event to multi-year resident installations. For one-off events, shows start at approximately USD 75,000, but for more complex productions, there is no “standard” price. The main cost drivers are: - Fleet size: anywhere from a handful of Lucies to 175+ drones flying simultaneously.
- Flight space: determines the number of Kedge localization units required to cover the space.
- Rehearsal and load in times: shows with lengthy rehearsals and load-in times require more on-site presence.
- Show length and cadence: a one-off event differs significantly from a touring residency or a permanent installation running multiple shows per week in terms of hardware consumables and on-site presence.
- Creative scope: selecting from existing choreography elements is the most efficient path; bespoke choreography developed from scratch adds creative and engineering time.
- Customization: custom drone costumes or non-standard lighting payloads run on longer lead times and carry their own engineering cost.
- Logistics: venue location, freight, on-site crew duration, and any regulatory approvals required for restricted venues.
- Operating model: Verity Studios-operated (we run the show) vs. partner-operated (a Verity Studios-certified partner) vs. client-operated (we train your team to take over). To get an accurate quote, the most helpful information to share up front is:
- Venue name and dimensions (or a venue drawing)
- Event date(s) and number of performances
- Rehearsal and load in schedule
- Target effect or creative reference (a previous Verity Studios show, a mood board, or a written brief)
- Whether the show is a one-off event, a tour, or a permanent installation
- Any required integrations or complex stage automation elements
What are Lucie micro drones?
Lucie is Verity Studio’s purpose-built indoor micro drone for live events. Each drone weighs 58g (2 oz) and flies fully autonomously. Lucie micro drones carry one of two programmable lighting payloads: an RGBW pixel light for saturated color, or the Mini Beam, which throws focused shafts of light through the air.
How long do the drones fly? What is the charging time?
Each Lucie micro drone flies for up to 5 minutes on a single charge and recharges in approximately 45 minutes.
For longer continuous effects, drones are staggered through take-off and landing windows, so the visible flight time can far exceed any individual battery cycle. Each charging station holds up to 40 drones and doubles as a transport case.
How many drones can fly together?
Our system supports an unlimited number of drones. The right fleet size for any production depends on the available flight space and the creative concept. Recent shows have ranged from 5 drones (intimate theater) to 170+ drones (GCC Games opening ceremony).
What flight space do you need? Is there a maximum size?
We design to the venue. We have flown in footprints as compact as 7m × 7m (24 ft x 24 ft) and as expansive as 100m × 60m (328 ft x 197 ft), with no defined upper limit.
The minimum ceiling height required is 6m (20 ft) and can go up to 15m (50 ft). If you can share venue drawings, we can advise on what is achievable.
Can the drones fly outdoors?
No. Lucie micro drones are purpose-built for indoor use. At 58g, they are remarkably safe in close proximity to people, but they are too light to handle wind. We can occasionally fly outdoors in spaces that are very well protected from wind and weather (e.g., enclosed outdoor stage or tents), but venue suitability is a shared evaluation we make with you in advance.
Can the drones fly above the audience?
Yes, we do so frequently. At 58g (2oz), Lucies are designed to operate safely above performers and audiences. As an example: For MJ ONE in Las Vegas, 64 Lucies fly over the audience 10 times a week, with 80% of the flight space directly above seated guests.
Our venue has a no-drone policy. Will this still work?
In most cases, yes. Our system has been approved to fly in more than 25 countries, including in venues that prohibit conventional drones (e.g. Singapore’s Changi Airport). The combination of small size, full autonomy, and a proven safety record (over 1,000,000 flights and counting) typically clears the bar set by policies that were written with much heavier outdoor or camera drones in mind. We will support you in obtaining venue approval.
How reliable is the system?
Reliability is the foundation of everything we build. Selected stats:
99.95% reliability rate
1,000,000+ flights completed to date
Nearly 100 patents underpinning the technology
Touring artists describe the system in their own words: “the drones are super-reliable. The only time they don’t work, it’s because of human error.” (Justin Bieber production team)
What happens if a drone fails mid-show?
Every Lucie micro drone is designed with redundant systems at multiple layers:
1. Continuous health monitoring: each drone monitors its battery, motors, sensors, propellers, and connectors hundreds of times per second.
2. Graceful degradation: if a drone detects a fault, it executes a controlled landing in a pre-designated safe zone rather than continuing flight.
3. Fleet resilience: shows are choreographed so the absence of an individual drone does not break the visual effect, the remaining fleet continues as designed.
4. Pre-show readiness checks: every drone is health-tested prior to the show. Any unit not at 100% is swapped out before the show begins.
5. Spare inventory: spare drones travel with every production to allow swap-outs between cues or shows.
The combined effect is that audiences experience the choreography we promised, regardless of what is happening inside any individual drone.
How far in advance do I need to book?
Standard lead times depend on what you are asking for:
- Standard show (existing or custom choreography, off-the-shelf payloads): 4–12 weeks, depending on complexity
- Custom drone costumes or technical customization: 3–6 months
Factors that extend lead time include: multi-country freight, regulatory approval in restricted venues, and integration with complex show-automation systems.
Tighter timelines than the standard window are sometimes possible. Get in touch and we will tell you honestly what is feasible.
What does the setup look like? Power, road cases, crew, rigging?
At a high level, a Verity Studios show is built from three things on-site: Lucie micro drones (in charging stations), positioning anchors (Kedge™ localization units that rig in and out like any other point), and a show-control workstation.
Representative requirements for a 64 drone show:
- Road cases: 6-8 cases including drones in charging racks, Kedge units, control gear, and spares
- Power draw: < 5W per antenna on standard event power
- Setup time: 12-32h from truck to show-ready for a standard one-off event
- Crew on site: 2-3 Verity Studios (or trained client) technicians during install; 1 during show
- Skill level required: the system is designed for client staff to take over after training. All touring and resident shows are fully client-operated.
- Rigging: Kedge positioning units rig in and out on standard truss or flown points; charging racks are floor-stacked. We provide a rigging plot for the venue ahead of load-in.
- Drone deployment: Lucie micro drones are placed on stage in trays of 8 straight from the charger, no individual handling needed.
- Drone landing: They can be programmed to land near their trays, in the wings, in offstage nets, or in stage lifts for fast removal.
We will send a full technical rider once we have scoped your show. If you share venue dimensions and a production schedule, we can tell you exactly what to expect.
How much ongoing maintenance does the system need?
Lucie micro drones self-report. Each drone’s onboard sensors continuously monitor battery health, motor performance, and structural integrity, flagging any unit that requires service. For permanent installations and touring residencies, we train your local crew to perform routine maintenance and battery management. For one-off events, our team handles maintenance before shipping the system.
How customizable are the drones?
We can deliver custom lighting payloads and bespoke ultra-lightweight costumes (e.g. lampshades, nautical creatures, black-light activated effects). Costume design programs run on 3–6 month lead times, since they require aerodynamic engineering on top of the visual design. Get in touch with the team early if costuming is in scope.
Who should I contact for an indoor drone show?
Contact Verity Studios or one of our certified partners directly. Verity Studios specializes in autonomous indoor drone shows for tours, permanent installations, and large-scale corporate and live events, and will work with you from creative concept through to the live show. Reach the team at info@veritystudios.com or via the contact page.
Who does indoor drone shows for concert tours, cruise ships, theaters, theme parks, and corporate events?
Verity Studios is the established world leader for autonomous indoor drone shows. We’ve been operating since 2014, have toured with Metallica, Céline Dion, and Justin Bieber, delivered permanent installations with Cirque du Soleil and Royal Caribbean, and served as official technical supplier for Eurovision 2025.
How is an indoor drone show different from an outdoor one?
Outdoor drone shows rely on GPS and cannot operate indoors. Indoor drone shows require a different localization system: Verity’s Kedge localization units position drones precisely without GPS, carpets or cameras, enabling safe, reliable flight above performers and audiences inside venues of any size up to stadium scale.
